A huge thank you to those shareholders who worked the first distribution shifts! We appreciated your willingness to dive in and your patience while we work out the kinks. 

For those who have shifts scheduled in the near or distant future, please take a moment to read over the distribution procedures handbook which gives detailed info about the responsibilities of each shift worker. The handbook can also be found in the blue binder in the barn. Often there will be only inexperienced workers at distribution just like you, so please ask questions, read the book, and call on other shareholders for information.

We are all counting on each other to make our CSA work smoothly and happily. If something comes up and you cannot make a shift you’ve signed up for, please contact Jessica, Distribution Coordinator, as soon as possible.

On June 14, Stone’s Throw CSA will host an Ice Cream Cone Welcome from 2 to 4. Members, new and experienced, are encouraged to drop by Silvernine Farm in Sutton to grab a cone of cool, creamy goodness, feed the goats, see the Children’s Garden, and walk through the barn and new distribution method. Come greet the farmers who are growing the produce this season!

As we begin our second year, we are looking forward to meeting friends, new and old, and getting to know each other better. We hope to greet you at the Ice Cream Cone Event on Sunday June 14.

This spring, like last year, has been dry and cool and some of the crops are a little later than expected. Despite this challenge, we are planning to distribute your first shares on Tuesday, June 16 or Saturday, June 20. But don’t despair, your kale is coming! Any crops that aren’t available for your first share will be distributed as soon as they are ready. Keep your eye on your Inbox for a welcome letter with more details about picking up your first share.

We all look forward to working together for a long and successful harvest to share.
